| opmerkingen | 9 July, Ezumakeeg, Dongeradeel, Friesland, second calendar-year, photographed (O Tol, E de Weerd, R Cazemier; Tol 2004; Dutch Birding 26: 286, plate 421, 2004). Previous records were near Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, on 12 December 1905 (taken into care) and at Praamweg, Flevoland, on 5-10 September 2000. Reports of this species are notoriously difficult to judge; without photographs or video images of sufficient quality, reports will almost always be rejected because size and shape are very difficult to describe accurately, especially when considering the variability in size and coloration of Common Buzzard B buteo.
