| opmerkingen | 9 October, Koudum, Nijefurd, Friesland, found dead (skin retained by J de Jong), photographed (B van der Veen, J de Jong); 18 October, Kustweg, Lauwersoog, Groningen, found dead (skin retained by A van den Burg), photographed (A van den Burg, J de Jong). These two birds bring the total for 2008 to three (one was well twitched at Leenderbos, Noord-Brabant, on 10-11 February 2008). The first was as recent as October 2002, and the second followed in December 2005. Four of the five were found in the two most northern provinces, Friesland and Groningen, which may be an indication for an origin from the nearby breeding areas in Niedersachsen, Germany.
